Missions Committee
Objective of the Missions
Committee
The objective of the Missions Committee is "to assist the
congregation of St. Matthew's in ministering to all persons of the
world in need through programs of relief, rehabilitation, service,
and prayer...in the spirit of Jesus Christ."
Goals of the Missions Program at St. Matthew's
-
To inspire, inform, and educate the congregation concerning
opportunities to serve in God's mission. An emphasis is placed
on "feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, educating the
poor, aiding the sick, and providing for those in need."
-
To provide an opportunity for every member of St. Matthew's to
participate in a mission outreach project. This stewardship is
part of the tradition and fabric of our faith community.
-
To form "work teams" from St. Matthew's to support Local,
National and International mission projects.
-
Provide the youth of the church opportunities to actively
participate in charitable acts of universal love through
projects supported by adult leadership.
