St. Matthew's Bids Farewell
to Kendrick Weaver - June 2007
 

Sunday June 24, St. Matthew's held a Farewell Fellowship to celebrate Associate Pastor Kendrick Weaver's four year tenure at our church and to wish him well on his new appointment.

Kendrick preached the sermon at the Sunday morning services,  Around noon time, church members, friends, and family convened in Fellowship Hall.   Attendees - more than the room could hold -  set out a potluck feast and settled in to enjoy food and fellowship.   Speakers honored our Associate Pastor by telling "Kendrick stories", recalling fond memories, and expressing their appreciation.   Going-away gifts were presented - some with a smile, all with our best wishes for Kendrick in his new undertaking.  Kendrick's move is a short one - just "down the road" to be Pastor at the Glenn Dale United Methodist Church.
