Good Afternoon St. Matthew’s Family,

Due to the heavy rain today and through the evening we are changing the plan for Service on the Green.
The 7:30am Garden Service will be inside of Fellowship Hall due to ground saturation.
The 10am Service will still be a casual service but will take place in the Sanctuary. While the rains will be done at this point we do not want anyone to get hurt walking on wet grass.
Following the 10am Service our Church Picnic will still take place in the parking lot. Starting at 7am the parking lot by the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall will be blocked off as we set up tents, tables and chairs for the picnic. If you need assistance from the lower parking lot to worship, there will be people available to help you into the building.
Tomorrow afternoon is going to be a beautiful day in the mid 70’s and full of sunshine. We hope that you will join us for worship inside and then an end of summer celebration outside! This is also a great opportunity to invite a new friend to worship and fellowship within our community.
Hope to see you tomorrow!
Blessings,
St. Matthew’s Staff

Join us again as we have our “Worship on the Green” (outdoor service) on Sunday, September 3 (Labor Day Sunday) at 10 a.m. at Sussex Park (grassy area across the street from the Bowie Library). The 7:30  Garden service will be held as usual.

Let’s Eat

Following the “Worship on the Green” service, there will be a picnic at St. Matthew’s from 12-4 p.m. The church will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs, and beverages; please bring a side dish or dessert to share.  Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, participate throughout the day with various tasks, and assist with clean up after the picnic.  Also needed are child-friendly yard games, tents, saw horses, and coolers.  If you have any of these items and are willing to loan them for the day, or are willing to volunteer, please contact either Barbara Lambert atbarb.lambert@comcast.net or 240-460-1057 or Jennifer Boyer at Jennifer.boyer@smithgroupjjr.com or 301-741-6019.  A team will pick up the items up from your house on Saturday, September 2.
